About the Corporation:
Emmitsburg Osteopathic Primary Care Center is a non-stock,
not-for-profit, tax exempt organization. EOPCC was brought into
existence as a corporation under the guidance of Rosemary McDermott,
attorney-at-law, on June 19, 1999. Our Federal Employer Identification
Number is 52-2179848. Emmitsburg Osteopathic Primary Care Center opened
its doors for the first time on September 2, 1999. Through the teamwork
of Rosemary McDermott, Catherine Ditman, CPA, and Dr. Bonita Portier,
DO, on February 23, 2000, EOPCC Received 501(C)(3) tax exempt status.
Purpose: (taken
directly from the Articles of Incorporation)
To provide for the physical health and well-being of the greater
Emmitsburg, MD community, including but not limited to the research of
medical issues affecting the community, the maximization of preventive
health practices by means of education and training and the planning of
medical-related events, especially preventive medical events directed
towards the working poor.
